I was one of five boys, born and raised in Long Beach.  I graduated from CSULB with a Business Administration BS in Accounting and minor in French.  I received a Master's Degree in Public Administration.  I wrestled in high school and Junior College and at 20 years old became a police officer in the City of Long Beach.

As a police officer I worked patrol, Pilot/Observer Helicopter Detail, undercover narcotics investigator, patrol sergeant and retired as a Lieutenant in the harbor overseeing Boat Detail.  During my career I also facilitated and taught at the Academy various subjects including cultural awareness, hostile work environment, sexual harassment and various other classes.

I have served the City of Huntington Beach as a member of the Citizens Participation Advisory Board and am currently serving on the Community and Library Services Commission appointed by Councilman Erik Peterson.  I also serve on the Long Beach City Employee's Federal Credit Union's Supervisory Board and am currently President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.  Over the years, I coached and referred AYSO soccer and also served on the St. Bonaventure School Board and was the chair of the Finance Committee.
